How do you know when it’s time to move on?  How do you decide whether you need a different type of living accommodation--something that suits your age and health and will provide safety and contentment?  How do you organize or dispose of the accumulations of a lifetime?  How do you make all of the endless and nerve-wracking little decisions that go along with doing any of those things?

As a transition and relocation service, RosieMoves is here to help people with these problems.  We offer a full menu of move management, downsizing, and organizing options, with specific experience in the particular problems facing seniors.

We can help you with as much of your move as you like, from deciding whether to move, to arranging the move itself, to turning down the sheets in your new home.

We will work with you to market the house that you live in now and help you decide where to live next, whether it is a single-family residence, a condo, an apartment, a Retirement community, or an Assisted Living community.  There are many options, and we are familiar with all of them.  One of them will be just right for you!

If you just want to 'move on' with your life in your current space, we'll help you figure out how to best do that, too.

Call RosieMoves at 205.422.8418.  We can help you organize your current living space, or find a wonderful new one.  Let's work together to create your next home!

Many of us in the 55+ age group have acquired a house and a lot of 'stuff' to go in it. We started with the basics, and then over the years we accumulated more and more—stuff that we needed at the time and stuff that (we thought) we wanted. We inherited stuff handed down by our parents and stuff left behind by our children. At some point, we became 'OVERstuffed'! One day we looked around and thought “where did all of this 'stuff' COME from, and what am I going to DO with it?”

It’s important that your home and its contents fit your lifestyle, whether you are raising a family or are a single person or a couple. Too much space can be hard to maintain, financially and physically. Too little space can cause stress and anxiety. Many of us have either more or less space than we really need. The goal of Rightsizing is to have the space—and the amount of ‘stuff’ for that space— that you really need in order to live comfortably.

There are two ways to accomplish this goal, either by re-organizing your current place or by finding a new one...

Maybe what you need is a clearing-out and re-organization of your present living space.

Years of accumulation can make even the most spacious home stressful to live in and difficult to navigate.

We will help you go through your home and decide which items should be kept, discarded, donated, or sold and then arrange for their dispersal.  (This service is also available for those who need to clear out an estate or empty a house before putting it on the market.)

We will work with you to organize the rest of your home so that it functions well for you and provides a safe, calm, and uncluttered atmosphere.  If you plan to 'age in place' in your home, we will help you find a reliable contractor who can install items such as grab bars and wider doorways to make living in your home safer and easier.

We  understand the physical stress and emotional conflicts of a lifestyle change. We've been through it personally, and we can guide you through the maze of moving or the confusion of re-organizing.

Has your present house outlived its usefulness? Would you like a place that better fits your current lifestyle? Are you tired of the responsibility and expense of maintaining your house and yard? Has it become difficult to find help with repairs and odd jobs? Would you like to be able to use the equity that you have in your house?

Just as we often outgrow our 'small starter house', we also eventually outgrow our 'large family house'--but 'home' we carry with us always.

A house that has been lived in for many years often needs some 'freshening up' and staging before it goes on the market. You only have one chance to make a good first impression, and we'll work with you to make sure that YOUR home's first impression is a GREAT one!  From the initial planning to clearing out the house for its new owner, we will work with you every step of the way along the road to your new home.
